Designed to financially support applicants who would otherwise be unable to fund the cost of coach training.

A word from our founder

The overwhelming feedback we receive from graduates is about how the programme contributes to their personal development and self-confidence, as well as how they do their jobs. Coach training will give you different choices in life and the chance to take another look at your career and trajectory. It will give you the potential to create your own business, or work with organisations that mean something to you, not just those that fit with your current skill sets.

One of the reasons I’ve created the bursary is my belief that everyone can coach. But now, from April 2023, I am delighted to announce that I will be providing an additional Coach House Bursary to anyone employed by the NHS. 

We recognise the work that you have been doing both during the pandemic and beyond; so if you wish to extend your skills and become a coach you can do so with a guaranteed 50% discount. All we would need to see if confirmation that you are currently working within the NHS.

The Coach House Bursary is available to a small number of students on each year.

Criteria

  • Applicants who demonstrate the potential and determination to become coaches and the aptitudes and abilities to successfully graduate from the programme.

  • Applicants will be shortlisted based on their application form and a written submission of between 400 and 750 words.

  • Shortlisted applicants may then be interviewed. The interview will be carried out by Helen Tiffany, Founder of The Coach House, or Lynne Cooper, Senior Tutor of The Coach House (the Bursary Panel).

Written Submission Guidance

  • What is your personal interest in coaching and becoming a coach?

  • How do you see yourself using the coaching skills you acquire, in your current role and in the future?

  • What is your personal experience of coaching or mentoring and how has this informed your decision to apply for this bursary?

  • How do you anticipate that training as a coach will positively affect your personal development?

  • In order for us to fairly assess each application, it helps us if you can outline your financial reasons for your application eg redundancy / loss of job.
